Aca-pool-co

For seven days we got to be in paradise with our bestest friends Tyler & Alie. Luckily Tyler graduated so we could go on a trip to celebrate. We had been planning the trip for about a year, so we were all really excited and ready for a vacation when the time to go finally came.

While in Acapulco we:

Met our awesome driver, Roberto. He was awesome and fun, and we even got him to go to church with us and bonus he liked it enough he later said he was planning on going again! Woot Woot :)

Laid on the beach, swam in the ocean and pools.

Took a tour of Acapulco with Roberto. We saw a boutique hotel with amazing views, the chapel of peace (also amazing views, but of Acapulco Bay), went to a silver shop and got free pina coladas (delish! and no alcohol), then we saw the casablanca hotel where Elvis filmed the movie "Fun in Acapulco", it was being renovated into apartments so it wasn't as fabulous as it must have been years ago. Then we went and had lunch while watching the cliff divers. They would dive off a 130 ft. cliff into water that was only 11 ft deep and 20ft when the tide came in, so they had to time it. Nutters! Then we went to a Mexican Flea market type place where we bought souvenirs.

Then we got to swim with these!

Yes, dolphins! They were so cool, we got to swim and play with these guys for like an hour. Their skin is rubbery and they don't seem real because they are so stinking smart. When they look at you, its as though you can literally see them thinking. It's crazy! There was one thing we were able to do where one of us would get in the middle of the pool, flex our feet and put our arms in front of us, then the dolphins would swim up behind us put their noses on our feet and push us across the pool so fast we'd litterally get standing up outside of the water. Loved it!

After we finished with the dolphins, we got to go play in a..... Mexican Water Park! Yay! I know it sounds pretty sketchy right!? Well, it was but it was fun. Luckily the water slides were the ones where you went down them on intertubes (sp?) otherwise I may have been afraid of contracting some disease. It really wasn't that bad, promise. Here is a video of going down one of the slides, compliments of my hubby.

We also ate at a mexican restaurant down the street from the water park. The food was crazy delicious and they gave us four different salsas that were incredible. I wish I was eating there right now. Mmmm.

Then we basically spent the rest of the time at the resort, which was totally amazing.  We had a two bedroom suit with a kitchen and living room. It was awesome.  There was a lazy river surrounding one of the pools and the other pools were crazy long.  The lobby was gorgeous, when you first walk in from the valet area, you see these huge mayan tablet statue things made into water features and mayan tribal music was playing, it was legit! Then you walk into this crazy lobby area that is all open and water surrounding the walkways and sitting areas. I'll show pictures.
